Is a chelupa just a big taco or is it in a class of it's own?

a class of its own. its more bready and greasy than its counterpart the regular taco with a chip like shell

It sounds like Che LOOP pay and you sure pay more for them then a taco.

chalupa is just the name of a taco, its not a size

A "Chelupa" is a whole different breed of Mexican food.
