Well, you didn't give an approximate date, so I don't know which counterculture movement you are talking about. I will just tell you the first one that popped into my head.

The Woodstock Festival, in the summer of 1969, pretty much became synonymous with the counterculture movement of the 60s. It had everything--the hippies, the music, the drugs, the free love. Even now, when you mention it, it conjures that whole era in people's minds.

If you were thinking of some other era, please be more specific, and you might get a better answer.
