False. It will induce a south pole. A knife of the right kind of metal contains an internal distribution of magnetic "domains" which are like tiny magnets in the metal. If the knife is unmagnetized, the direction of the magnetization of those domains is random and has a uniform distribution, so no one direction is preferred. If the knife is vibrated near a magnet, that vibration "loosens up" the domains so that their direction of magnetization can move. The domains will line up their south poles to face the north pole of the external magnet, just as the south pole of any magnet will be attracted to the north pole of another. After the vibration stops, the domain's direction of magnetization is "frozen", with the preferred direction being the south pole facing the external magnet.

gp4rts gave the right option. no doubt false but the reason is because no single pole is prodused both poles are prodused and there positions are ditermined by the way you struck them.
