I had to consult the writings of Nostrildamus on this. He says size is snot the issue and contents is in the tissue. Where the nose goes nobody knows....so follow your nose.
I'm checking with Nostradogmas next. He's an expert on snouts. Maybe his answer will make more scents.

No, it isn't the size of the nose that matters, unless it looks like Pinocchio's and he has just told a humongous lie. The only thing inside the nose is what matters, if it is hanging out and running down your cheek. OOOHHH, Gross!

Really it does snot matter. I think the grossest nose contents is hair. I hate nose hair! I don't care if I blow an alien placenta into my kleenix, I just don't want to see nose hair if I look into a mirror.
