I know times are tuff now and maybe men cannot afford to take a lady out on a date. Is it ok for the lady to pay for part of the date. I would hate to think I owe him anything or he would expect something else in return. Maybe I would ofend him if I paid for part of the date, Is paying for some of the date expense telling him that it is only friendship and it is not going anywhere?

I think if the guy asks the girl out and he plans the outing, like the dinner and the movie, he should pay, and the same if the woman asks the guy out, but if two people have been dating for a while it is ok to each pay something towards the date.

If the guy invites you out for the date... let him pay for the meal... if you feel bad about it. You can return the favor by paying for movies or later drinks.

Else let him pay for the 1st date and you can treat him on the second date.

If you invite him... logically you pay... though it's always a gentleman gesture for the guy to offer to pay.

I am fine with people going on Dutch. But I personally think it's kinda troublesome for me... so I am more for the gesture to offer treats and to return them too.

Think you need to recognize a scrooge and a gentleman when you date. Of cos you also do not want to be taken as a lady who only expects men to pay. It's all about balance.

first of all i don't understand who would want to date a loser who doesn't have money even to pay for food for his woman. second my true believe and i have proved it with all my life that man pays for everything no matter what time we live. but if i don't like a guy from the beginning and i don't want him to be my permanent partenr but i would want to date and see maybe i am mistaken in that case i will pay for myself not to be obliged. also if we re on a date and i liked a guy but then i started changing my mind so i will start paying for myself and if i want to insult him i offer to pay for him too. this gives me the satisfaction of revenge for the lost evening. but as we all understand there will not be the second date after this

If this is a first date, you have to pay everything! be gentleman enough for your girl. If you are doing well together then that's perhaps the best time to share the bill.

Usually what i do is have the money prepard and offer to pay.. if he wants to pay for all i won't stop him but i always offer to pay no matter.

If he pays i would think that he is a classy man and perhaps you should go out for a second date to find out..

Good luck

Real Men haven't changed, if you can find one, but paying your own way I wouldn't because he might take it under his belt to start thinking you will pay for all the rest of the dates. Let him pay for it, and let him be a man.

I think you let him pay the first time, after that you might feel comfortable asking him about it.
