Can anyone help with this problem? It is a example of an upcoming test problem and I cannot find a similar example in the text or notes.

Is this exactly what was written in the question? It does not make sense to me.
Also is the equation 2 - (3y/x^2) - y^2 = y or is it
2 - 3y/(x^2 - y^2) = y.

Please clarify your question. First, do you mean tangent line? Second, please use parentheses to remove ambiguity.
