which is the wind that cools the land in chennai. from where does it blow, the land itself or the sea. does it have a name. Help. Its for my report

sea-breeze, the Thamil word for it is "Kadal Kazzu"

A sea-breeze (or onshore breeze) is a wind from the sea that develops over land near coasts. It is formed by increasing temperature differences between the land and water which create a pressure minimum over the land due to its relative warmth and forces higher pressure, cooler air from the sea to move inland.

the wind that blows from the sea to the land .. its called the sea breeze ... it blows because of uneven heating of the water and the land ... in the day time , the land heats up more than the water ... so there is a low pressure created in the land and a high pressure created in the sea ... the wind which blows from high pressure to low pressur which is known as the sea breeze tends to cool the land ...

In my country there are called off-shore winds. The air over land usually heats faster than air over water. As the warmer air rises, cooler air rushes in from off the water to fill the partial vacuum created.
