My 69 GTO with a 400 gets about 16 to 18. No mods, auto, 3:23 rear end. I'd geuss your getting about what I'm getting unless the engine has been bored an cammed. My 2nd 69 is .030 over with .465 lift at the valve, and gets around 14 mpg, and my 68 gets about 8-10.

Your gas mileage will depend on the transmission you have I.E. Turbo 350 or Turbo 400 3 speed auto would probably give 18 Highway if you drive steady. If it was converted to have the 700r4 4 speed automatic over drive it might get 20 or so. If you know what the rear end differential ratio is it might have a higher gear ratio which would give better mileage. Engine tune is very critical for best gas mileage. Anything above 65 miles per hour and they really drink gas in my experience.

So much depends on how you drive, and on the condition of the engine. You might get 20 mpg. Is this the original almost 40 year old engine? Have people been hotrodding over the years? gas milage might be the least of your problems

Muscle car and MPG don't go together. If your buying and worrying about MPG you are getting the wrong car for you.

If you are asking about the gas mileage to decide if you want to buy it then you don't get the point of owning a car like this in the first place and you should let someone that does have it.
