Personally I would take it at face value. The person is joining the military and wants long term care for his/her tank.

I would gladly do it for no pay what so ever. IF the person really insisted I would take the cost of supplies, but only if they really insisted. This person is joining the military during wartime basically. I think I can afford a little water, fish food and filter material to say thanks. But that's just my opinion.

Hell yes I'd look into it. And depending on the troubles of transferring the fish, I would ask for $50 for electric and another $50 for maintence, total $100/month. Luckily those fish are fairly easy to take care of. But if you talk to the person ask what would happen if you did end up losing a fish or two, just in case.

If I had the room for the 125 gallon aquarium, sure.
For legal liabilities, i would like to have a written contract stating that I would not be responsible for the life expectancy of the fish (they don't live forever), and after 6 years, if the original owner of the aquarium does not return then he relinquishes ALL interest in the aquarium.
Fee for services .. none.

I would do it, but I have run out of room for another tank. If the person was trusting enough to let me into their home to feed the fish everyday and do regular maintenance once a week, I would glady do it free of charge for somebody who is going to go and risk their life for the country.

First it will be a scam youll be asked to put up money as security for the tank then they say we ll bring it a day or two before we ship out and that never happens your out of the money they are long gone a scam such as this happened here in cleveland ohio I however was smart enough not to fall for it when I checked it out .

I agree with some of the other answerers. I would do it for free for someone serving in the military. But I would not put any money up!! That would smell like a scam.

Goldfish and Plecos? Is someone really that lonely? Why not ask family or friends to take care of them?

(Honestly, I think it's pretty funny)
