They are in 2nd. Now I like Lou Lamirillo but c'mon!! You cant fire someone who is in their 1st year at the helm of the team and is in 2nd place. Why would this happen?

This question is regarding C;aude Julien of The New jersey Devils . Since I am from montréal , the journalist are very quick on private info , so there was a radio show this mourning at CKAC where Martin Brodeur told the media what happened It will propably be out tomorow , anyways ,here goes. Martin went to Lou Lamoriello and told him it was him or me , me and the veterant of the team , we do not whant to play under him , so I guess this is one of the many reasons why winning coaches get fired

Sweet Lou thought his team wasn't playing with enough defensive awareness. Wins are nice but the true gauge of effective coaching is found with the number of fans awake in the stands.

A ratio lower than 2 sleepers for every 1 empty seat will not be tolerated by his Lordship, Duke Von Trap of Meadowland.

did you know that the playoffs are around the corner and the Devils are ranked 26th in the NHL for GF, not good for a long playoff run. Brodeur needs help and i bet throughout the season Julien has been told to get more offence from the players which he didn't get at all. so Lou will step in and try and turn things around cause in the playoffs its really hard to score goals then it is during the regular season so something needs to be done and that's why Lou fired Julien. i bet Julien will be back next year as head coach with the Devils.

Late one night, in the wee hours, a weary voice whispered "Lou, Julien is starting to look too good--the team in first place and Elias is still injured. Don't let him get away with it. Don't share the glory. Take all the credit for yourself." Then the voice continued, "Oh by the way, this is Bobby Clarke. I'm ready to work again."
