You are right. 100% & absolutely. The lion shouldn't be put but the tigers, crows or dogs should be put.
Anytime you watch tigers, they are unlike the other cats. They are lone hunters and they even jump on a herd of bison when they are in groups. Except these the other one is a crow. Ifyou injure a crow, all the crow's friends will keep flying over it's dead body. They will show the unity and then they won't care about death.
Other symbol of courage is dog. It will defend the house & the master no matter whatever comes in it's way.

Good golly Ms Molly, another tree hugger. What do you think would happen to all the unfortunate animals the lions eat if they weren't there. There would be some other animal to do the chore. Also, the survivors are better fit to fight, so they make the prey harder-to-catch. Just listen to the tales of woe about deer overpopulation in areas were the natural predators to deer are not present.
Moreover, working in concert with other lions is hardly a trait to complain about. The term courage comes from the Latin for heart. Thus, Richard I of England was known as "couer de lion" or "Lion-hearted". At least it sounded catchy.
You could further complain about the Bald Eagle on the US Seal. From what I hear, it is not beneath going after sick, dead or dying prey.

The hunting is the nature of that animal and its habitat.
But, it is easier, safer and enough to hunt a smaller creature. See, it won't attack any creature which just passes his whiskers when it is not hungry. It work for its food and when required it will fight against the mighty elephants are such other creatures.
The Gentle look, the royal roar, etc., are the added advantages of the lion to be an emblem.

WHAT is WRONG with you, man? Lions need to eat, too! I think it'd attack things it's own size...if he could eat it all! Probably a lesson you are still to learn. Never grab more than you can eat. And think of it this way: if there were no lions to eat baby elephants or new-born buffalo, maybe they'd be in excess. It'd throw off the food chain.
And animals are wiser than us in more ways than that (grabbing no more than they can eat); perhaps, being that animals are sinless and pure creatures (yes, ALL of them), maybe they know that part of their duty as a wildabeast or elephant or giraffe is to feed the lion so that it can live. So that, when they die at a certain time, it can feed OTHER animals.
Why do we keep trying to drastically change the world because we think it's 'better' or something? We didn't create it! God did, man. God did. Let Him do all that stuff.
Peace.

Actually lionesses do all the hunting of weaker or sick or wounded animals, not lions. Lions do very little or even no hunting. Basically a lions job is to fight. It is born to fight. It must fight other lions from rival prides in territorial disputes. It must fight hyenas. In order to do this is most have an exorbitant amount of confidence, strength, and ofcourse courage. If the lions lacks these qualities he will be tossed out of the pride, starve, and die. Courage is vital to a lion's way of life. A cowardly lion is a dead lion.

The lion is called as the king of the jungle because it is physically strong as well as mentally .It attacks a weaker prey because it is very intelligent and does not take any risk and no wastage of food or its strength by killing a weaker prey .Always it eats a fresh food.It is very intellectual to kill the largest prey in number because to teach us the moral that the the biggest snake can be killed by thousands of ants which show es the strength in the unity.

A lion being hunted by man brings his courage into sharp relief. Even wounded, the lion will still charge face forward towards the hunter. Tigers are back-jumpers, that if wounded, run, giving no resistance. This was a bit of information that was quite common, when hunting was more common.

The lion attacks other weaker prey as that is the only means of survival. Now if it happens that lions stop feeding on weaker prey, then the ecosystem will lose its balance.

Hey, you're so right..........
And you've solved a problem that I have long been having.
I am working for a men's rights movement and I wanted a symbol of bravery or courage or manliness for my group. And I did think of the lion.
But the violent nature of lion has been bothering me. I think now I am convinced that lion is definitely not a symbol of bravery or courage.
Bravery or courage shows when you take on an equal or someone more powerful that you.

i like the way you place this question. The "demagogic leftist hordes" are threatened by ability of any concept-approximately ethical absolutes. while a guy or woman who helps those standards succumbs to human frailty and sins, the left is rapid to cry, "hypocrisy!" of direction, a guy or woman's very own failing never discredits ethical standards, however the left tries to make the transgressor an excuse to dispense with all ethical absolutes. In a feeling, left-wingers can't be accused os hypocrisy by using fact they have not have been given any standards interior the 1st place.
