I'm not planning on doing it. It's just something I've always been curious about. I just want to know if anyone has done it and can tell me what happened.

I meant clothes. Sorry. My fault. Not laundry soap. But clothes. Can you wash clothes in the dishwasher? What happens?

bits of fabric will clog the dishwasher drain and ruin it in just one try. i accidently dropped a dishtowel in with the dishes, god what a mess.

Ive done it when I ran out of detergent. Not a good idea. There were bubbles going out of my kitchen and into my living room... it would have been so much easier to go to the store and get more dish soap!!

I don't suggest you try this. First you cannot use laundry detergent and if you try dishwasher detergent, you may not have any clothes left. It has a very harsh chemical like lye.

only thing i have ever washed is a ball cap and it was clean!! top rack**
