did the item you order arrive on the date it was supposed to? and is there like an Amazon truck that comes and delivers the package or does the mailman deliver it? do they like ring the doorbell and wait until you answer it or do they just leave the package somewhere? i know these are dumb questions but this is my first time ordering something online and i want to know how things happen...lol

Amazon gives you a window on the last order page - by regular "free" delivery, it can take anywhere from 4-14 days - generally quicker butusually 99.9% accurate. 2 day and overnight are pretty as noted - usually most deliveries come by UPS but most CD/DVD's come by US Mail - depending on the safety of your neighborhood and what you order, they might leave it - if you are in the suburbs like me, they usually leave it but if you order a laptop, they are not going to leave it unless someone signs for it. Amazon is pretty great - great return policy - read the reviews - 99% pretty accurate.

Have been ordering regularly from Amazon - especially used books. Here, in the suburbs, packages usually come UPS. The truck driver rings the doorbell and leaves the package in the garage. I think I signed something sometime ago to allow this.

I love Amazon! it will likely be delivered via mail, or UPS, you can get a tracking code sent to your email and depending on which company they send you can track your package up until it is delivered to your door.

They will ring the doorbell and usually leave it by the door or in the mailbox if it fits

i take advantage of Amazon for the mp3 downloads (if the fee is sweet). additionally for some books, video games or stuff i will no longer be able to discover on retail shops. I used to purchase on Ebay, even with the incontrovertible fact that it is not fantastically much as good as earlier.

I order books and software all the time at Amazon. They have never lost anything I bought online. It is either shipped via the mail or UPS.
