Because you can edit or delete your own answers if you want to, but you cannot edit or delete someone else's answers... even if you think they deserve it =)

(You are the only person who sees the edit and delete options under your own answers.)

It is there so you can edit what you've said, or delete your answer altogether. It wouldn't be fair for you to be able to edit or delete what someone else said, so you don't see it for their answers.

If I looked at a question you answered, I wouldn't see edit or delete at the bottom of your answer, but if I answered the question, I'd see it at the bottom of my answer.

Yahoo answers is smart like that, it knows which ones are your questions and lets you edit only the things you've written. ;)

I just checked and your answers are fine. Are you sure you're not looking at the edit/delete when you ask a question?
