An animal that needs help.
I can never resist them.
Heard a dog crying in the woods one night at dusk. I had a vision in my head of some poor golden retriever tied to a tree by an evil person, knew I wouldn't be able to sleep unless I looked for it. Had my three dogs with me and hiked all over in the dark for over an hour trying to find it (thank goodness I had a flashlight and pepper spray with me). I thought it was the acoustics of the ridges and valleys we were hiking on that made the sound seem closer than it was (I also wear hearing aids) - and finally figured out it was a coyote leading me and the dogs on a merry chase, probably laughing at me the whole time.
The little b@stard! It was a great hike though, terrifc exersize although I cannot recommend hiking off trail in the dark. If I hadn't been with three big dogs it would have been very very creepy...

We had that take place as quickly as at our homestead. We re-baited the traps each evening for days. the subsequent morning the bait replaced into continuously long gone. Then, sooner or later, I walked in purely in time to ensure an stunning path of little black ants to and from the capture. They already had it very almost long gone! i could no longer have self belief it.
