No, my mom worked full time, went through graduate school, full time for the first year and part time later. I didn't suffer because of it. I think I'm better off for it. I respect my mom because she's an intelligent woman not just some dumb house wife who pretends she has a job when all she is doing is chores. Doing what you say you want to do is part of being a good mother.

Not really, but understand it wont be easy either. There are alot of people out here that take their current situation and want to better themselves. Youre going to have a really full schedule with little time for much else. Youre going to put some extra stress on your marriage, but if you talk this thru with your husband and he agrees with you fully and will support you thru this, then youll be alright and as long as you remain focused on your dream, then youll make it. Once you do this, then there wont be a thing you cant do as any life challenge will be simple compared to what you are about to embark on. Just follow your dream no matter what and youll accomplish it and dont let anyone deter you from it or youll regret it the rest of your life. Good luck

I was just in that situation two weeks ago, and I ended up quitting my part time job because my grades were failing. It took a lot to consider which one was more important but I ended up leaving the job because school is costing me a fortune so I wanted to complete at least this semester, walk away with good grades and work again in the summer. Doing all of those things was very overwhelming I still have yet to recover and no one thinks about the details of everything cooking when you get hm, homework (you and the kids), bathing, cleaning, satisfying your husband, and then laying down to rest just to start the same pattern again the very next day. Good Luck

No it's not unfair although it will be very tiring and you will be run off your feet. I done it all last year apart fom the working and to be honest don't think i wouldv'e found the time to work, i was always at the course, studying, cleaning the house, looking after my 3 kids, cooking tea or doing work experience. I was so worn out that near the end of the course i practicly burned out. It was very hard but i was so determined that i got through it and it went so quickly which probably helped alot too and now i look back and wonder how the hell i done it.

I am the mother of 2, engaged to be married, going to college full time and I work 2 part time jobs. It takes a ton of scheduling, but it can be done! I am going to be a Registered Nurse because I want to have a stable career that can never be shipped over seas or taken over by robots. If you put your mind to it you can do anything!
P.S. I still get to tuck my kids in every night!

Not unrealistic, but really really tough. You will be ok as far as school load until your spring semester of sophomore yr or fall of junior year, that is when it gets HARD AND KEEPS ON AS YOU GO, BUT DON'T LET IT SCARE YOU OFF, JUST KEEP COMING BACK AND WORKING, YOU CAN DO IT!! It may be a lot of stress from lack of time from work, being a mom, wife, oh and by the way, homework and assignments thrown your way

Your marriage and children will suffer if you neglect them, and those relationships should be more important.
As for going to school and working a job, well I think that if you're really careful budgeting your time so that it doesn't detract from the family time it is possible to do one or the other without hurting anyone (aside from your exhaustion which if you're not careful can hurt your family).
Doing both is not very realistic unless you are absolutely amazing at budgeting your time and have so much energy you never need to sleep.
I hope you follow your dreams, but I also hope you keep the priorities straight and don't hurt your family to do it. Good luck.

No, because I work full time, I am a wife, and mother of 2 (5, and 6) , no babysitting of any kind. I cook almost everyday, and I am taking college class.

No, just bear in mind once clinicals demand a full-time schedule that it will be full-time school, PLUS another 20 hrs. a week doing papers/homework/studying. Never give up!
This site has tons of info and nurses have forums there:

People do it everyday.. When the dream is big enough statistics do not count anyway. You just have to never forget why you want to go to college. It will be hard at times but it will be very worth it in the end.
