Well, let's see. So Fox admitted to having a bias. At least they are honest about it.
CBS sure as hell wasn't honest about it and it cost Dan Rather his job.
The NY Times published a story about women at war. "One of the servicewomen, Amorita Randall, a former naval construction worker, told The Times that she was in combat in Iraq in 2004 and that in one incident an explosive device blew up a Humvee she was riding in, killing the driver and leaving her with a brain injury. She also said she was raped twice while she was in the Navy."
The Times did not bother to contact the Navy to verify the facts of this story until 3 days before publication. In very slight defense of the Times, the Navy, being a typical government bureaucracy, apparently didn't get back to the Times until "hours before the deadline." The Navy finally did respond, though, and Ms. Randall's account was not verified.
Why would a major player in our national media *not* bother to check the basic facts of a story like this much sooner? Yet again, the media was in a gleeful frenzy - they got to make the military look bad. The article ran in a weekly magazine, so there wasn't much excuse for *not* checking the facts. When the facts were unable to be verified in time, another story *should* have been substituted. A retraction was not printed for another week.
So much for honesty in the liberal media....

When you watch the news, you REALLY have to don your B.S. goggles and learn to read between the lines. Remember, George Stepanopolous (the greek guy as politcal consultant) on ABC was Bill Clinton's wonder boy way back when... Tell me he's not more than slightly biased... It's like listening to a quote, not only do you have to know its source, but also the context in which it was said. Sadly, most of America (with a capital "A"), isn't smart enough to know and understand that -- and the news media counts on it.
As for the liberals, Tolerance only works for them when they perceive a gain. Otherwise, they are very much intolerant of those of us who are intolerlant. Same holds true of diversity.

Perhaps Fox is the same inside and outside the country--who cares? The problem is it is highly biased, and they exaggerate everything political. But diversity doesn't not mean you must be fair about your personal television habits, kid. Diversity, as it is commonly termed now, means being open to cultures different than your own. Now you may say that Fox News and its viewers may be a culture, It's a matter of opinion, I guess.

I've never watched tv outside of the country- I've never been outside of the country.
but I think that channels like MSNBC are very diverse they have both conservative and liberal newscasts/news commentaries.
fox seems to have one liberal and he is quiet. fox does have a few moderates but I don't think thats enough diversity
its like having a see-saw with people on one end and people in the middle- it will tilt in only one direction

They are able to recognize a bias at FOX because FOX has very few good things to say about liberal positions. On the other hand it is much harder to recognize the bias of someone agreeing and applauding you.
I am glad for FOX. I am also glad for CNN. For balance I watch both and that is an interesting exercise in and of itself.

I'm not sure what affiliates you saw - but I find no evidence of what you say on my trips to other parts of the world. They all show pretty much the same thing but from an outsiders perspective i.e. not knowing the details of americans and how the cons actually are so very different than anything they have experience with. They think all americans must be nuts to be so stupid and backwards.

The liberal media is used to being the only voice. They controlled the information for years and inspired human beings to their ideology, and that they do unlike giving that up.....yet i think of the bloggers have extra to do with the autumn of the liberal media than Fox. If i choose information, i visit Fox....

Diversity is fine. Conservatives are fine. Fox News blows. They constantly make errors and never retract them. They pick up unsubstantiated stories off the internet and run them as if they are actual news, such as the report about Obama attending a madrasa. When Foley was accused of having sex with pages, Bill O'Riley identified him on his show as a Democrat. That's the kind of amateur hour crap that is inexcusable.
