I would have to believe that the Kurds could come out of the whole situation in Iraq as winners. Saddam was terrible to them and murdered them almost for fun. The Kurds have become fairly unified politically (which is really not true of any other group in that country) and could really begin to shape the future of Iraq and their people. You constantly hear about all the violence between Shiites and Sunnis, but you don't hear about the Kurds rebuilding their communities. This war really is the best thing that ever happened to them, even if it has not been beneficial to other Iraqis.
