gold. I had problems wearing all metal except gold. probably because they don't rust.

Steel, either surgical or stainless, though surgical is best, and 14k or higher gold is good too. If you use other less worthy metal, it can actually cause you to be allergic to those metals later and you won't be able to wear anything but steel and gold ever. This has happened to many people I know that were in too much of a rush to wear fashion jewelry not made out of fine metals. They now can't wear most earings without getting really bad rashes around their earing holes, and sometimes it even bleeds. :( Stick to plastic earings or surgical steel for a few months first. :) You'll be glad you did.

Gold or silver, because it doesn't irritate your newly pierced ears. Other metals can inflect your ear and make them irritate and swollen. Usually, gold is safe for the first couple of weeks.

well after the 8 weeks or so are up i would only wear real gold or silver..none of that cheap stuff...after a couple of months you could try wearing whatever you want for a day or so and see what happens but i only wear real metals b/c my ears are sensitive

gold or surgical steel or pure silver would be good but if they are newly pierced i don't think you should change out the earring yet.
