Your intercepts:
x-intercept: 6
y-intercept: 3

If the x-intercept is 6, this means the line passes thru the x-axis at (6,0).

If the y-intercept is 3, this means the line passes thru the y-axis at (0,3).

Now use these points to make your line. What is the slope between (6,0) and (0,3)?
(0 - 3) / (6 - 0)
-3/6
The slope is -1/2.

Now find b, using one of your points to be your x and y. I'll just use point (6,0).
y = mx + b
0 = (-1/2)(6) + b
0 = -3 + b
b = 3

Since your slope is -1/2 and b is 3, your line is...
y = (-1/2)x + 3

Now to put it into standard form. Just move the x over...
(1/2)x + y = 3
But you don't want x to be fractional. So what do you do? Multiply by 2 to make the 1/2 a 1!
2 ( (1/2)x + y = 3 )
x + 2y = 6

Hope that clears things up! Usually it's that very first part that tricks people!

Answer: x + 2y = 6

If you're talking about y=mx+b, then its y= -1/2x+3. I just solved by the fact that its higher on the left which makes it a negative slope. I used the 2 intercepts to get the slope which was 1/2. I got 1/2 from 3/6, 3 is the y-intercept and 6 is the x-intercept. The +3 in the end is just the y-intercept. Hope this helps!

X int (6,0) Y Int: (0,3)
1) find the slope: y2-y1/x2-x1
3-0/0-6=-1/2
2)next choose a one of the points (6,0) or (0,3) and do the point slope form y-y1=m(x-x1) *m is the slope
3) set it up I chose (0,3) because it has smaller numbers
y-3=-1/2(x-0)
4) simplify, add the 3 and distribute the -1/2
5) final answer
y=-1/2x=3

formula:
x/a + y/3= 1

a=x-intercept= 6
b=y-intercept= 3

6(x/6 + y/3)= (1)6
x+2y=6
that was for standard form

x+2y-6=0
that was for general form

y=-1/2x+3
that was for intercepts form

i hope i helped..ü
