Put chariot spikes on your wheels if you are headed for the pit. People get rough there. Make sure you have a buddy. Stay at the fringes so he or she can pull you out quickly. Good luck.

Dude, if you bring a wheelchair into a moshpit, it can get ugly. The others won't know how to react.
Best case senerio is that they decide to stop moshing all together out of respect toward you.
Otherwise, I think that they'll either get ticked off at you and at least verbally assult you for spoiling their fun, or if they are really OUT THERE they may even purposely knock you off of the chair while rationalizing that you asked for it.
If you think this is an area that is worth going into, then be prepared for the worst. Do you have a plan if you do get knocked down? Depending on the crowd you might end up being trampled on - at least for a moment if not longer.
Without the use of legs, I fail to see how you will be able to shove back.
If possible, you might want to get a small group of like-minded friends and practice at someone's house before you make a public debute. You might gain invaluable insight through a small scale mosh.
I'm not saying no to you, but not being in a wheelchair myself, and not knowing your physical condition, and not knowing the crowd, in the end YOU are going to have to make the decision.
It would be cool to get to crowd surf.

Mosh people can be drunk and high. It's not even really safe to go in period unless you want body parts broken. If you fall out (or if you are able to stand and fall down) you are going to get kicked and stomped.
But you can create a wheelchair mosh pit, and maybe a small venue (or a skate boarding park that plays metal and punk) could do it. All you need is two-four cheap wheel chairs or modified skate boards, a skate ramp (the bigger the better) and a couple of "runners" to clear "the floor." Just get on each side of the ramp and crash into each other.

Don't dude. I was at a Chimaira show recently and my friend went in for 2 minutes came out with his glasses smashed on his face. At my local venue, the Cleveland Agora. Right behind the pit are tables you can sit at and still have a good view. P.S. The front would be the worst spot for a wheelchair, sorry dude but dont go in.

i wouldnt recommend it. the whole point of a mosh is for people to slam into each other, and its easy to get trampled if you fall down. i would imagine that you being in a wheel chair would make it a lot more difficult because you cant really hit anyone (without either punching, or rolling into them)
plus if you get knocked out of the chair (i dont know how disabled you are personally, so im just guessing) then it would be hard to get up quickly to avoid being stepped on.
anyway, if youre really that into it, try it out, just bring a friend to keep an eye out. (which anyone should do, wheelchair or not)
