We'll never know for sure, I guess. If they don't act on it, they sure won't admit to it.

Several scientific studies such as The Janus Report on Sexual Behavior; Homosexuality/Heterosexuality by McWhirter, Sanders, and Reinisch; and the Indiana University Kinsey Reports have shown that the gay male population is 10-12%.

There have been fewer studies on bisexuality, but using data from the Kinsey figures show that 27% of males are bisexual.

If you add the approximate 10% of exclusively gay men from all 3 studies to the 27% of bisexual men from the Indiana University studies it yields 37% of men who are willing to have sexual relations with other men.

From these results it could be said that approximately 40% of the male population is gay or bisexual, but it could not be said that 40% of the male population is gay.

I am a gay Christian man so I’ll try to answer your question. I think the 40% figure is totally off the mark. The percentage of gay men in western cultures is around 5%. In a gay mecca like San Francisco, the gay and lesbian population combined is only 12%.

Sometimes, because of cultural pressure, some straight men may experiment but that doesn’t mean they are gay.

I think 80% have had some curiousity of different amounts (wonder what it is that gays get from sex to looking at another man and finding him sexually attractive-beyond normal male admiration/jealousy to look like him). I think it is more like 25-30% as far as truly being gay, but like 60% have had a homosexual experience.

How would you ever determine such a thing? It's bound to be pure speculation. However, I do feel that more like 75% or more could enjoy both sexes, even though they'd still prefer one over the other.

i think that is an ignorant statement.thats like saying anyone who has ever thought of having a drink is an alcholic!most people have thoughts they dont act on thank god .it doesnt mean you are gay there are people who want to promote that way of thinking for obvious reasons its just not true.you have a choice you do not have to act upon the thought of drinking or doing drugs or anything else.it means you are human and thats all.
