Having had 4 kids I have been where you are. The pain can be the cervix starting to loosen up (open) prior to the birthing process, or it could be the ligaments in that area streching to allow an easier passage for your little one. If you get a show (a mucus discharge) then chances are labor has started. But always if in doubt ask your health care professional. Good luck and safe delivery, B

When was your last ob appt.? Did your doctor check you then? Or do you have one soon? You can have this pain for weeks, or just as labor is starting, trust your instincts, if you feel you need to have it checked out, then go to the hospital. I had those pains & lots of pressure, & had it checked out late at night, the next day I had my daughter... Braxton Hicks are not to be thought of as minor, they help labor along too, so like I said, trust your instincts...

hi there! fist of all, congrats, your almost done! Now, if the pain your feeling on your cervix is real quick, sharp, and painful, that would be your baby kicking, punching, or rubbing up against it. I have it pretty often. No harm done, but it hurts like heck! If thats not what your feeling, sorry I couldnt help!

A normal term pregnancy is anywhere from 38 to 42 weeks. It sounds like early labor to me :) I have friends who wished they were early, so embrace it and good luck!
