I love bees. Bees are the only insect that I know of that provides a food stuff fit for human consumption. Bees are also extremely important when it comes to the other sources of food we eat. Every fourth bite of what the majority of humans eat has had to have been pollinated by bees. Even the animals that humans consume have to eat the food that occurs because bees have pollinated their food too.

It appears; after reading the answers given by others; that I'm perched precariously on the bee opinion fence. My indifference to these particular insects prevents me from hastily answering this query.
Fast & true?
I neither despise nor fancy the bee. If by some happenstance a bee or other of his barbed brethren should exhibit less than the same indifferent attitude toward me; I would dispatch the one, or a dozen or indeed an entire village of thousands with alacrity and extreme prejudice.
With genuine reflection I'd say that rates me as somewhat more of a bastard to them than they are to me.

But wait!?!?! Did you mean a bumble bee? Oh yes, indeed I do like bumble bees. I think bumble bees are both attractive to the eye and interesting to watch. The'er honest, hardworking and good wid da kids. Yep, bumble bees are OK by me. I don't love'em-- but I do like'em.

Hope you will share your particular "Why I Hate Bees" story in the comments.

Did you know that the toxins in bee stingers are being researched to alleviate the symptioms of M.S.? This is a wonderful thing, because people who cannot even walk or are in debilitaing pain from M.S. are beginning to have some freedom and independance with the treatment of bee stings. Keep in mind, there are things in this world that we may hate, but they may carry the answer for our rarest of diseases or disorders that affect the very quality of our lives. Have some respect for bees! They are here for a reason!

Honey bees will not sting you unless they think they are in danger. Flapping your hands in an effort to chase them away only scares them. I kept hives of bees for a long time and love those little girls.

I LOVE bees. We have a rosemarry bush outside that attracts bees from all around and every now and again, especially if I'm sick, I will catch one and press its stinger into my arm. This gives my immune system a great boost.

Bees? I'm fine with bees, they've never bothered me... honeybees, bumblebees, wood bees, they buzz around, but I've never been stung by a bee (except once, and that was all my fault.)

Wasps on the other hand..........

i have two phobias; one of spiders, and one of bees. they've always terrified me. and that whole thing about, "if you leave bees alone, they will leave you alone" never worked for me.
plus, honey is regurgitated from the bees into the honeycomb.
