First my computer messed up. It wouldnt load up windows, it would just continually restart. I tried recovery it from an earlier time period using Norton GoBACK. Then I tried safe mode and did a recovery from there also. Nothing worked. So I decided to reformat it and reeinstall windows XP, which I have succesfully done before. Now it loads just the bare minimum. It doesnt load sound drivers, internet capabilities, I cant install anything, and my cd-rom drive wont read jack. I have tried multiple times, and each time I get the same thing. My laptop is just a paperweight.

Because there are literally million of different sound cards, network cards, videos cards, chipsets, etc., not all of them could possible be put on the XP CD. (Plus new ones are created every day). It sounds like the ones you need are not on the CD, so you will have to download them.

Use a friends computer and go to the website of the manufacturer of your PC. Look up your model number in the download section. They will have the drivers for the sound, network card, video, chipset, etc, all available for free download. Copy them to a CD and then install them onto your computer from the CD. That should fix the problems. Save the CD in case you have to reformat sometime in the future.

How did you reload the drivers when you reinstalled XP before this time.
