Yo wats up?
For all you experienced football athletes out there, could anyone give me advise on what i should try out for next semester?
This year i was a fullback, but i dont think i was quite cut out for th job...
Dont get me wrong, i did pretty well for my freshman year, but it think i could be more effective on a different postition.
In case your wondering, im about 5'7 weighing in at about 165 lbs, well built and a decent runner ( i ran my 40 in 4'9)
Please help I want to excel in this very much!!
Your help will greatly be appreciated!!

You have decent size.
I'd stay right where the coach put you.
If you'd like to try something different - for now you're a little slow and inexperienced to be a linbacker - but maybe Defensive End would be an interesting change. Once you developed into this position it's a great transition into linebacker if you have what it takes.
otherwise, keep working at Fullback.
good luck with whatever you try.

I'm guessing this is High School? I reckon it would depend on the size of your school. Division as well, ect.
My Freshman year I was 5'10 190lbs. Throughout grade school and middle school, I was always a wide reciever. Great hands and was really fast as well(achor in relays for track). When JV Football started I went out for WR. Coach said we were short on lineman, so I figured heck, why not, I'd try it. From the first hit, I was in love. Changed to DE/OT (small school, had to play ironman, every play, every down)
With you being 5'7 165lb and being a Fullback prior. I'm guessing you are fairly stocky and a natural blocker. Judging by High School stats, you might consider:
A) Outside Linebacker
B) Def End
C) Free Saftey

Build up you size(weight, overall body size), And Run about a 4.7 in the 40 and you'll become a natural FB. If you are looking to change your position, WR might be what your looking for. Why? Your pretty fast for being a freshman, and being a fullback, that means you should have decent hands, and you can take it all they be running over people.
This coming from a guy who went from DT to OT to FB to HB then back to FB. And next year, I'll be playing for the Ohio State University, as a FB and backup OL(G,C,&T)

with your size and 40 time your a perfect fit for a f.b. but a great f.b. doesnt get the credit they deserve usally the hb,s get the glory when you broke the hole for them to run through.I can tell you that college scouts love watching fullbacks, especially in the sec and big-10.but your young enough to work on that 40 and your still growing so half back is not out of the question.if you can hit, bulk up and try safety.or linebacker that fun and your active in every play.

You actually aren't that short for your age and will grow. Fullback and Running back sound like your best positions, but if you want to play something else, try for WR or maybe Cornerback

You could be a power HB. you are fast enough to get through the tackles. small enough to be elusive. you could also be an LB. If you played LB however, you would be at an extreme disadvantage because of your height. I would say power HB or FB. You do seem to fit those positions well.

tightend. if u played fullback and poped people then at tight end u can block effectively ur pretty fast so a linebacker cant cover u with some more wieght then tightend would be perfect.

try tight end linebacker and corner for tight end ur speed and weight would help allow u to block and be a big target for the qb
linebacker u have good strength and ur speed will help u pursue the qb
and corner u have good speed and could keep up with the wide out

Get on the D-line. Smaller guys like you can give people headaches if your'e quick enough from point A to point B.
