Sometimes I'll say sure but normally it's always a yes. A yes is a for sure answer that cannot be confused. it's the best bet.

It is nice to switch it up, especailly if you are listening to someone that is a long winded talker. And if they are your boss you definitely want them to know that you are listening, but you do not want to stand there and say. . . yeah, yeah, yeah

I usually respond okay - but then I have to say it about 20 times before my kids realize that I responded to them.
