Who is the true NBA MVP this season?

Kobe Bryant

or

Dirk Nowizki

Nash is not in this debate because he is not the best player on his team. He is not the most valuable, if you took him off the Suns, they would still be a playoff team. So Nash is not a option.

Well you know i am a laker fan so most people would just say i chose kobe because im a fan but i would have picked kobe even if i wasnt a fan. This guy is a sensational player. He is probaly one of the best basketball players the nba has seen in a long time. Kobe had an amzing month of march getting alot points. As for dirk. Dirk is argueably having the best season of his nba career but he might have some trouble in the playoffs with that injured ankle. So gotta go with Kobe for sure! Go 24!

Of the two you pose, it has to be Dirk. He's the best player on the best team in the NBA. As for Kobe, they are 5 games above .500 and the Lakers have won games without him this year (due to his stupidity of intentionally elbowing and slapping opponents).

Your argument against Nash is pretty weak also. When Nash has not played this year, the Suns are 1-3. Yeah, they might be a playoff team, but they would not be title contenders. The same could be said about Dirk - if you took him off the Mavs, they'd still make the playoffs. I believe the same is true about the Lakers -- you could take Kobe off the Lakers and they'd make the playoffs, and with a lot less drama off the court.

in regards to nash, he may not be the best player on the team, but he is their most valuable player. amare went down with an injury last year and nash still led them to post season. this year nash missed 4 games and they lost 3 of them.

if u take kobe out, his team wouldnt make the playoffs. and if they did, maybe an 8th seed (who knows, with kobe out, maybe other players would come out and become a 15-20 point threat).

take dirk out and the team has still won. yes he puts up great numbers, but he also has stars out there. one could even argue that the offenence and defence that Howard plays is just as important to the 27 and 9 dirk puts in.

i dont think u can say that the MVP race wont include nash. most will say cause he has amare and marion. but so did marbury, he had those players and he never made them the team they are now. dirk is having a fantastic year and because of his teams record he will be favoured to win mvp. kobe is in a team that is struggling, and not a force in its conference. because of this, he will lose votes in the mvp race.

it should be dirk.his leadership helps his team a lot and look at them now, they are the top team in the NBA.even with the departure of his best friend steve nash and the other part of the big three, michael finley, dallas is still the best team in the NBA. dirk is also very unique, he is an excellent jump shooter and he can shoot 3's while he's a 7 footer. he can also drive to the basket. his assists number are up and he's defense has improved a lot compared to the don nelson years.he's a very good leader and it really shows because even though dirk is not on the playing court, dallas is still a good team. and i think that dallas has a big chance of winning the championship this year.

Nash is not the best, but he most likely is the most valuable -- he makes that offense run. Remember last season he missed several games and I believe the Suns lost all of them. If he were gone for an extended period, they would probably still be a playoff team, but they would not be one of the two best teams in the league, as they are now.

They're both really good, but Dirk is having a really awesome year, so he might deserve it a little bit more. Steve Nash is also playing well, but Kobe is always a threat. He is the new Showtime!

DIRK - he made his team better
he scores and assists
his team went on 3 15 or more win streaks

Kobe - the Lakers can win without him
the Lakers can lose even if he scores a lot

ID GO WITH DIRK

It will be either Nowitzki or Nash, Kobe will finish 3rd at best. It SHOULD be Dirk, but who knows, there is always a Nash lovefest when it comes time to do the voting.
