I like Fantasia the best - she's faced nothing but adversity her whole life. She has amazingly risen above her hardships and yet retained humility. Her instant fame doesn't seem to have affected her negatively as it has the other winners, who have gotten really "full of themselves" and changed totally!
Not to mention, she has the most soulful sincere singing voice and style!

i have never watched it on a regular basis, but i would have to say that Taylor Hicks would be my favorite. i like the way he sings and i like that he is from the south. seems like a good guy.
i also like Kelly Clarkson. i never saw her on idol at all in that season, but i like her songs since then.
