There wasnt a guy who invented it. It was a group of MIT students who wanted a way to communicate and swap files over a network. It was called ARPANET. When the Military saw value in it, they all but took it over and honed it for military use.

Yahoo is owned by the shareholders. They did not invent Al Gore, nor the internet.

The Internet evolved from a government network known as the ARPANet. If it had an "owner", it would be the US government. Yahoo, however, was created by a group of individuals as a private corporation.
