Some know that they are crazy, because say that you have a manic depressive and they finally realize that they have something wrong with them then they do get help, but take for example someone that has psychosis/schitzophrenia then they may not know that something is wrong because everything they experience is just normal to them. So the answer to that would be yes and no depending on the severity of the mental status.

Being crazy merely means that you have personality, so you shouldn't worry too much about this.
I don't know anybody who is not a little bit crazy!
But if you think that you have a serious problem with things like hearing voices (which i doubt you have) then you should probably get help!

The way to tell dementia (like Alzheimer's disease) from shizophrenia (hallucinations) is to ask them if they need help. Schizophrenics have lived with their condition most of their lives so it's normal to them and they will tell you their fine, or they will say the neighbors tv is too loud, or something that accounts for the voices they hear. Dementia sufferers will ask for help because they know things don't make sense.

I was told the same thing and it's a bunch of BS. I'm considered crazy, only because I'm not afraid to be my own person. "Crazy" are usually referred to those who do their own thing, regardless what others might think/say.
So what if you are. Be proud.
