I don't know if the gases are a complete farce, but i do know that iguanas thats been fed a high animal protien based diet can expel amonia from their skin. I know it sounds strange, but it has got to do with the kidney function of iguanas. The amonia is a by-product of the kidneys. I seriously doubt that amonia can cause brain dammage. With babies your worst fear should be salmonella poisoning. Its a bacterium that lives in the intestinal tract and can be deadly for young babies.
This means your iguana can not be free-roaming anywhere where the baby may go and you should thoroughly clean your hands before touching the baby

Type in iguanas and babies in a search engine and see what different sites have to tell you. Personally, I think that this guy is mistaken. If iguanas were dangerous to babies, I'm sure more people would have heard of this and doctors would be sure to tell you. Doctors would probably also ask if you have a pet iguana or if anyone in the family has one. So no I dont think this is true. If you're worried ask your doctor or even a vet.

That feels like notably unreliable tips. be conscious the "some guy stated that her study someplace" would not sound a hazard or maybe possible. is going with the asserting that cats suck the life out of infants at nighttime (an fake explanation for SIDS). Plus, if that replaced into real, you may comprehend approximately it already, and tips could be obtainable. purely like how pregnant woman are no longer meant to bathe a cat's muddle container through chemical compounds that would impression prenatal progression (which has been shown to be real). once you're nevertheless aggravating, purely shop the iguana in a diverse room. Iguana gases are purely carbon dioxide (like from us) and digested bugs- no longer something poisonous there. the guidelines of air dispersal mean that whether it replaced into poisonous, you may desire to maintain the iguana in the toddler's crib to get any genuine outcomes from one among those small quantity of launched cass.

Doesn't sound right to me but the best bet would be call your vet and ask them. They would have the right info. I had an iguana until my son was around 3. Good luck.
