Lots of opinions and ranting before mine, some I agree with, some I dont. But here's my contribution:
If you don't want to get married and you are not making a conscious choice to become pregnant--For Gods Sake, People.....
BIRTH CONTROL. The pill is 97% reliable when used appropriately. If you aren't smart and old enough to use it appropriately then you aren't smart and old enough to have sex.
COndoms. IUVs. Diaphrams. etc.
Tons of options.
How do so many people keep having multiple accidental pregnancies? Makes me nuts...

Well, no. Why? Because I don't think it's necessary that a child has two parents and often a child with a single parent is better off when the two parents resent eachother. Yes, people cannot get over their feelings and even if they pretend to, children are very perceptive and will pick up on the feelings between mom and dad. This is why men should always say no to sex with pro-lifers, unless they want to reproduce. That is the responsible behaviour.
Besides, what about all the women who 'oops' men into having babies? Some women even go so far as to put holes in the condoms, lie and say they are on the pill or refuse to take the morning after pill when they **** up! A responsible man doesn't let some dumb woman have his baby without his consent. Keep an eye on your condoms and always wrap it up or better yet, get a vesectomy. Children suck!

I don't understand the reason for the pregnancy in the first place I mean come on with sooo many contraceptives that have been invented by these incredibly smart scientist.
I really don't see a reason for marriage if your not ready for regardless of a pregnancy, yes women are truly independent this days and I think society has taken a toll on this because of soo many irresponsible men.
We work harder at college, job, home to make a better future and men are only staying behind, so they are not really needed in some cases, depends on the man and his personality.
Romance and practicality do not mix, yes its more responsible thing to do, but there is no need for it not in the times we live in were women are soo much so advanced.
If your going to have sex use protection if you think love is a fairytale the move to Disneyland irresponsible men will run out women because its the most practical for them, and if your a women in this situation suck it up and move on.

I have to say I disagree with the notion of marriage simply for the sake of providing and being responsible. For a marriage to work there has to be something...call it love, companionship, whatever...but being stupid enough to not understand birth control is no reason to get married.
That said, I totally agree with your sentiment that men should always step up to do whatever their partner wishes regarding an unwanted pregnancy. If the mother intends to carry to term and keep the child, the father should do his best to ensure that his child is cared for and know they have parents that love them. I'm sure today there are even a few 'single fathers' out there.
Abandonment is wrong, period. So, I guess I couldn't answer your question, I have no idea why anyone would abandon a child so they can continue to 'sow wild oats'.

Well, I really think if you make a baby you should take responsibility for it, but sometimes it doesnt work out that way. ...for example my friend's boyfriend got someone pregnant and decided to stay with his girlfriend rather than take care of this girl that he got pregnant....who he did not care anything about and this girl has since moved away and the guy will never see his baby....who he thinks about and wants to know but he made a decision..might have been a bad one but he has to live with that.....but he chose his girlfriend over his unborn child.

I think you only want answers from men, but I'm going to answer even though I'm a woman.
MEN don't run out on their chic when she becomes pregnant. Lowlifes do that.
I can't understand unwanted pregnancies in this day and age. There are so many precautions available.

if women can't keep the panties on till the ring goes on, MAKE SURE you don't get pregnant.
you are making it sound like only the man is to blame here. take some responsibility yourself.
and the line about "don't need a mans help" if you truly don't then don't complain.
sex creates children and it takes two to do that!!!
and why should he stick around? you were free for the taking. no commitment.
