why doesnt iodine conduct electricity?...y does graphite conduct electricity? y does calcium chloride conduct electricity?....whats the difference in these substances that cause them to conduct electricity?

Substances only conduct electricity if there are freely moving charged particles.
In iodine there are none. In graphite there are free electrons. Calcium chloride will only conduct when the ions can move - ie in the molten or dissolved states.
