Why do you lose self-control when you get happy or excited?
(getting high, drunk, or anything that deals with drug, weed, and alcohol does not count)

natural chemicals (stimulants) called endorphins are released in your brain and they kind of "take over". a lot of people say that endorphins are only released when someone is happy or excited, but thats not true. different types of endorphins are released with every emotion causing you to "lose control" of your thoughts.

"the mind is a complex thing. you'd think there was a woman up there or something" - i dont know who said this but its one of my favorite quotes.

I think that we lose self-control when we are happy or excited because we develop to a greater or lesser extent a feeling that we have more power and have a feeling similar to invincibility. These feelings give us the further feeling that we can break boundaries or restrictions that we previously held to.

Depends on what you mean by "out of control".
Emotions are very powerful, and when we are feeling them, we can either give in to the feeling or not.
Being happy or excited are good feelings- why not give in to the "loss" of self control, and share the happiness?
