My grade right now in Chemistry is a 92%, so close to an A, which is a 93. I'm asian with strict parents and I really need to get a good grade. It's end of quarter so there isn't really any more chances to make my grade go up, the only thing I can do is talk to my teacher. Is there any way to convince him?

Don't try to "convince." I may only hurt your chances for next quarter. Talk to your teacher now about next quarter. Explain how your parents are and how you want to work harder. Ask waht you can DO to increase your average. Chances are your teacher will offer to help you in a few ways, proof-reading your essays before you turn them in, tutoring before school, etc.

Remember- you EARN grades they are not GIVEN.

I think that trying to convince your teacher to give you an A is a pretty bad choice to make, academically. You have to prove to your teacher that you deserve an A. Ask him about any assignments that he may want done or just write an essay on a specific prompt, being as detailed as possible. It may be too late to get your chances to get your grade to go up a whole letter but there are plenty of things you can do to at least make it go up slighty.

It's a shame your asian, cuz if you were white, black or hispanic, there would be a good chance that your parents would have some crazy in them and then they could just bully your teacher into giving you that 'A'. But seriously, Explain your parent's expectations to your teacher and then offer to do some independant extra credit assignments. And be sure to explain the consequences of bringing home a 'B' or less. he may be a little more sypathetic to you cause and give you that extra point.

I think so. Ask your teacher if you can do-over any assignments for the consideration of a higher grade and ask for extra work. Also, just ask your teacher if he will consider raising the grade since you are so close and have worked hard. Remind him if you have had good attendance and/or good behavior. That might persuade him. Most teachers want their students to earn A's so he might just go for it.

Why should your teacher do this?

There are most likely other students in the same fix, but the teacher should just shrug his shoulders and say Why didn't you work harder and why are you putting me in this position?

So your parents are upset. I suppose this will motivate you to work a little harder and sooner so that you keep your grades up. Just tell your parents it won't happen again, and then make sure it doesn't.

You earn grades so I would approach him next term..There are probably other kids in the same boat as you.Just imagine the uproar if all the kids complained about their scores.Preferably talk to the teacher about where you went wrong now and focus on getting a better grade nex term.

Ask your teacher if there's a possibility for extra credit... reading or writing a report perhaps. Maybe there's an extra homework assignment that he can offer to the entire class for a point or two of credit.

Just go and do extra credit - show some iniative. Go ahead and do the next chapter or twos homeworks in the book. Bring it in and then ask. This will show you are serious, versus whining.

Ask him to reconsider on the strength of your work, let it talk for you, don't try the sex angle or you could wind up with a lower grade. (Although it worked for me back in the good old days, all you had to do was wear short skirts and sit in the front, but were they really the GOOD old days???
