There are no guarantees in love but that is no reason to stop trying. Be trustworthy and you will meet a trustworthy person. Just be care-full of the players that are good at faking it just to seduce you.

Not always! It is not possible to 'read' a person completely even after a few meetings. One needs to be careful in personal relations, be alert and look for signs of waywardness.
Professing 'true love' is not necessarily an expression of intent. It is the actions of the other person that lead you to judge his feeling for you.
Having said this, we need to remember that we too have to reciprocate feelings the same way we expect others to do to us. Love cannot be one-sided.
Some external trappings such as wealth, beauty, sexual attraction, social standing, special skills, etc. need not necessarily be indicators of true love. You have to go beyond these. However one cannot spend an entire life time looking for true love.
Be careful, observant, carry out a few tests (particularly in times of crisis) and then get an idea of real love. Despite all this, one may make a wrong judgment. Such is life. Don't blame yourself if your choice turns out to be wrong. Hidden aspects of personality are difficult to judge. Good luck

I am not sure I am reading you right, but if you are basing true love on someone capable of keeping you happy, you will be disappointed and never find it. No one is able to make you happy 100% of the time. But, I do believe there is someone out there for you, so just keep looking and never lose faith.
