Go for it as a member of the trans community I can tell you at 7 he is not going to be hurt by this. Gender Identity is concrete by the age of 5 and they have proved that it is biological so people don't become trans
as far as an outfit goes I would go for your old clothes he did ask to dress as a girl and if he likes dressing up you can try other stuff to oh and I know plenty of guys who dressed as girls when they were young who are very happy as men

Never know, guys that're older dress up as girls too.
Ever been to a drag show?
I'd for for the ballet one.

this "gender mix up" as you call it is more commonly refered to as being transgender. Telling a transgender person that it is not ok doesn't fix things. It makes things worse for them. I have a friend who is transgender and he suffered for a large part of his life from people forcing him to be something he is not. He is much happier now living as a male.
And regardless dressing this kid up in girls clothing one time won't do any harm. Girls wear guys clothing all the time and it is not uncommon for little boys to want to dress up in girls clothing. It really doesnt reflect a whole lot what his future will be like.
If he consistantally wanted to be female then it might be a sign of being transgender but otherwise the kid might just want to have fun. I recomend the movie "ma vie en rose" it is a movie about a little boy who is transender and knows it at a young age. Most trans people know this very early on.
And there is nothing wrong with being transgender.
But likly this kid isnt so relax

Yes this probably will be the only time you can get away with this so have fun! I think you should let him pick what he wants to wear and if he doesn't care I think the ballet outfit would be really cute.

What harm could it do? In fact, he may enjoy the attension. My brother and I used to dress each other up all the time. It was a lot of fun and a great way to bond. I don't see any harm in it. Have fun!

What does it matter if he is gay? Being gay is not a bad thing. In fact, you may be helping him become more confident and okay with himself.

You gotta do the cheerleader outfit and take pictures of it. You can use it blackmail him later.

I'd b careful about dressing him as one now. He is still pretty young and impressionable, but if he is anything like my friend's as soon as he hits middle and high school he is gunna wanna dress up like them as a joke for halloween or as a gag and all.

i dont think you should dress him up!!!!!!....this could show young signs of gender mix up..like a boy who believes hes trapped in a girls body.....so just say no and explain to him that boys do NOT dress up as girls..because if you do that when he gets older he might want to be a girl!!..so just say no
