Yes, I remember the days of the Wendy's salad bar. Wendy's and Arby's both had salad bars back in the day - delightful ones at that. I think the trend of the salad bar is fading as the population becomes more and more afraid of germs / food tampering etc. I have found that several pizzarias still offer good fresh salad bars. Usually they are made up of pizza toppings (fresh cheeses, pepperoni, pineapple, mushrooms, olives etc) so they seem to be pretty good if you enjoy a well topped garden salad.

yes i remember back when wendy's had a salad bar. you could choose your own toppings, and how much you want of the different things. What ever happened to the salad bar? Now you get a crappy plastic container with a little amount of lettuce for a high price? I miss the good ol days

no you didn't make that up. Wendy's did have a salad bar. The wendy's in my area did away with it about 5 years ago.

Yes, I also remember Burger King having one also, but Wendy's kept theirs up better. It just became less work and more profitable to have ready made salads for those who wanted them. I liked preparing the salad the way I liked but now you take what you get or leave it. Too bad.

I loved their salad bars, until I got sick off one. I think that is one of the reasons why they got rid of them, people kept getting sick in my area no matter which Wendy's they went to.

Yes, but too many people messed with them (ie. spitting, contaminating, or just making a bad mess on purpose, or careless...) , so the quality went down, so they stopped the whole program. Also, its VERY expensive to maintain a quality salad bar. (no profit, money loser)
