I live in a city with many universities so we have many computer stores around -- Office Max,Best Buy, Office Depot, and service places like PC Housecalls, Computer Geeks, etc.

Locate something like this in your area. A laptop is easily taken to a service store where they will do this for you. It costs about $60 an hour, but it shouldn't take anyone that long.

Formatting will take a couple of minutes. The installation of Windows won't take long either. If you just have this done, and are comfortable installing any other software, it won't be too costly and they should guarantee their work -- at least it will be in good order when you leave the store.

If you have the Operating System disk you can do it easily. Just do a reinstall and when it gets to the partition management part of the install, drop the primary partition. Then, re-create it and format it. All you have to do then is follow the rest of the install instructions. BTW: Back up your drivers first.
