happen if the USA said we are no longer allowing immigrants in our country, built a wall on both boarders, cut off funding to help aide 3rd world countries and other World Wide organizations. Quit trading with China and started being self dependant with natural fuels?

I don't see how our economy would take a nose dive, we would save billions in foreign aide, Fuel would cost a lot less, We don't really need China for goods (I can live without another miniture barbie in my childs happy meal)
and Jobs would be abundant with our new self dependant ways and lack of immigrant population.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't want to help improve the lives of others, but We just don't get any credit!!! we just get asked for more and criticized. We give billions and they ask us what have you done for the world.

This is one can of worms we are not ready to open. Sure, cut back on illegal immigration and watch the borders.Yes and cut back on entitlements. We already are sitting on an awful lot of fossil fuels as a strategic reserve.

The whole point is you wont be able to do away with any of these things all at once or immediately. Kinda like dieting.I feel a little more isolationism wouldn't hurt. Protectionism on the borders wouldn't hurt either.

Not going to happen. Legal immigrants contribute much to this country, although I am for building a wall at the borders. As for cutting off aid to third world countries, part of what makes us great is our humanitarian behavior. In this country of plenty, how can you let people of the world starve if you can help.

We'd complain about the price of oil, consumer goods, the lack of people accepting menial labor jobs.

The Oil Companies would kill whatever president was in charge and there would be wide spread protests and double digit inflation.

Other than that a great idea

So do we help people for credit or because we should.

That's so Christian of you. No credit, no freaking money. Did Jesus say that? lol

We would be fine and actually better off. All the scavengers would crawl back in their holes and we would work on ourselves without interuptions from the buzzards, Sounds like a plan.

I'm not sure, but at this point I don't think I'd mind trying. (Although the wall on the US-Canadian Border would be along the lines of the Great Wall of China. Maybe just one border would do.)

The US would dry up and die.

From my point of view it would help the world over all but your corporations wouldn't like it. They like to develope factories in low wage third world countries and sell the product back to Americans and other rich western countries. Just watch your rail cars.
