I know you won't need it for songs, but will you need it for other things (Like movies, shows, and games)?

Thanks! :)

Do you need it? Well, No! But it certainly will make the experience much better. The songs will download in seconds as opposed to minutes with a high speed connection. Movies and such will take just that much longer! You can use the Ipod without any internet connection technically. You can just load music and movie files you already have on CD's or on your computer onto the Ipod . I reccommend high speed regardless though. It just makes the experience so much better!

You don't need the internet at all for an iPod. As long as you don't mind having to type in all the track/artist/album names and such by hand, that is. What you need the internet for at all is iTunes/iPod software updates, downloading podcasts, and making purchases from the iTunes store, but none of those are streaming, so if you don't mind the wait you should be able to do any of those things through even a standard dial-up connection.
