I know of some web-hosting companies who act as if they are 'global' companies which no phone or SMS contacts are entertained. Only emails are encouraged. However, when we sent emails, only 50% of the chance we get replies. If do, sometimes can come as long as few days later. Any comments? Is this the norm?

I use dot5hosting.. They contact you within a few hours.. Sometimes minutes!

Switch your web host as soon as you can. You're paying for them to host it as well as the support. Depending on what you're paying you're not getting enough.
