Computer Science is aimed more at the programming end of the business. CIS is aimed at the connectivity of the various systems to network together.

Steve Jobs is in to Computer Science and Bill Gates is in to Computer Information Systems. You decide who is more successful

Computer science is about all of computing in general. Computer information systems are what business uses, and is mostly concerned with data bases. The latter store and display inventories, customer information, financial data etc.
