Well, I make homemade creme fraiche and use that instead of sour cream, or as a substitute, yoghurt. It must be natural live-bacteria yoghurt, at least two percent fat, with no additives or flavouring. Balkan-style yoghurt is quite good. When you are as picky as I am, you become a good cook.
