Oh wow. I love them both, but I'm going to go with Bob Dylan. Cat Stevens put out some stellar stuff (Catch Bull At Four is one of my all time favorites) but Bob Dylan put out ALL stellar stuff. The only way you can measure Bob Dylan's music is on a scale ranging from fantastic to phenomenal. The man was a true musical genius. Cat Stevens was superb, but it's really unfair to pit him or anyone against The Great Bob.

Bob Dylan hands down. Both are great performers but comparing Cat Stevens body of work to Dylan's is like comparing The Sun to an electric blanket... I love them both but Dylan is forever.

Singer/songwriters, apples and oranges. Stevens for the music, Dylan for the message.

I love them both. Dylan is far more influential objectively, but you can't deny the melodic skills of Cat Stevens. "Wild World"....need I say more?
