Sounds like labor isn't far away. Shortly before the births of all four of my children, I felt like I had the flu.

Get ready, mama, your little one is on the way!

39 Weeks Pregnant Flu Like Symptoms

Flu like symptoms are extremely common right before labor I am 38 weeks and 6 days I am feeling the same way. It usually just means labor is near (I took those birthing classes) we were giving a list and on the list it says usually a few days up to a few weeks before labor you can feel flu like symptoms, usually really isn't the flu. You could even get sick with vomiting or diarrhea, it's natures way of cleansing your body before labor. Ask your Dr. it is common. (All symptoms of flu doesn't mean genital herpes) If you are still concerned call the midwife or nurse and she will help you through it. I know mine just told me it's very common, and told me the signs of labor to watch out for.

Sounds like you are VERY close to having your baby. I would call your doctor and let them know what is going on. Pay attention to any pains in your back and/or abdomin. I had back labor and since I had been in a car wreck several years ago I thought it was just acting up when I was actually in labor for like 10 hours, and by the time I got to the hospital I was dilated to 9.

You may have just experienced the appearance of a previously dormant STD. Dormant genital herpes sometimes appears with flu-like symptoms when it appears from dormancy. Don't worry, genital herpes is not threatening to your child. At least you know you have it now!
