I am interested in replacing my hard drive because it's dying I am looking at either a 40gb or 60gb drive Preferably like to buy from newegg but not sure what is compatable

any harddrive will do for you as long as it is a IDE drive for the price of a 40/60 gig drive you can get a 120 gig for a few bucks more...
price them on the website below

Well, pretty much every hard drive today looks exactly the same (A Silver Rectangle) and you can get pretty much any one you fancy. If your still uneasy just call dell at 1800-WWW-DELL and they will answer your questions. Hope this helps, Brodster.
