It means so much....
...wishing I was at the Swamp on a 95-degree Saturday afternoon in September, watching the visiting team try to stay hydrated with the humidity at 3000 percent.
...looking forward to the first weekend in November so I can see the Gators crush the hopes of Georgia fans everywhere.
...scheming to get off work the day of the Florida-FSU game so I can watch it and not have my ex-boss discreetly call me with updates throughout the day.
...waiting for the new polls to be released so I can see where the Gators, as well as the rest of the SEC and the other state schools are standing.
...checking the scores at the bottom of the tv screen to see what major upsets are shaping up.
...trying to decide which darkhorse teams to get behind and watch them challenge the status quo. (2006 was a great year for that with Rutgers, Wake Forest, and Boise State.)
...watching all the great rivalry games that don't involve my teams -- Michigan-Ohio State, Texas-Oklahoma, Alabama-Tennessee, Oklahoma-Nebraska (damn the Big XII for ruining that one).
...watching all the up-and-coming in-state programs grow into the big-time, especially USF.
...arguing over which conference is the best.
...Albert, Mr. Two Bits, and the Pride of the Sunshine.
...wondering if Joe Paterno can catch up to Bobby Bowden.
...trying to figure out who I would rather see win the FSU-Miami game, a decision that has become really difficult in recent years because it has been played very early in the season.
...seeing the relevance of "momentum" disappear because it shifts every other play.
...Dad deciding if he's going to the Fiesta Bowl this year, and if not, what he's going to do with the tickets.
I haven't even gotten to the NFL yet!

The greatest example of the combination of individual strength and teamwork. A football player needs three things to succeed:
1. Preparation - Practice and hardwork to be the best.
2. Trust - both in themselves and their teammates
3. Leadership - the ability to step up when the game is on the line and do what they can to guarantee a victory.

Everything. Unlike some sports football is a one chance sport. You miss your shot, its over. The action is unequivocal, and the passion for the game is unmatched. The games are great, and the players are better

I loved last decade because Florida State was the most dominant team. But I dislike this decade because FSU is floundering and USC and UF are winning national championships. But be careful FSU is coming back this year with a revitalized staff.
