i have some stretches you can do if it helps:
stretches you can do:
butterfly position, splits, lunges, pilates, and yoga.
butterfly stretches:
just in case you didnt the butterfly position is when your legs are both bended and form a diamond shape in front of you
all you do is hold your feet and get your head as close to the ground as possible and you can also use you hands to push down your knees so it will be closer to the ground or you can bounce your legs while in the position and push down whenever you are bouncing downwards.
splits stretches:
side split stretches:
1st stretch:take a thick book and put it down on the ground then put one of your feet on it and go down into the splits position as far as u can and hold it there for like 2 minutes and switch legs.then do it without the book.
2nd stretch:put one leg straight in front and the other leg fully bended and try to touch your foot that is straight and hold it for like 1 min then switch legs.
3rd stretch do the splits as far as u can down and hold it for 1 or 2 mins and switch legs.
4th stretch:if u can do the splits then hold your front foot for 30sec-1min then sit straight and bend your back and extend your arms backwards and do it with the other leg.
5th stretch: do lunges
middle splits:
stretch:do it as far down as u can and hold it there for 1 or 2min and rest for a few minutes and do it again.
high kick stretches:
1st stretch:put your foot on the wall or a bar and face your foot/leg and reach to your foot then move your body to the side still have your foot/leg on the bar/wall and reach you hand that is farther from your leg/foot to your foot and switch legs
2nd stretch:put your hand on something strong or a bar and kick your leg (high kick) up as high as u can about 10 times then switch legs
you can also do some back bends
and you can bend forward to touch you foot
well here are the moves u need to know for cheer:
toe touch
hurdler(hurkey)side and front
high kick
star jump
tuck jump
splits
u could try looking in youtube for some videos that have to do with cheer
it might help
also gymnastics and tumbling and jazz would help too gymnastics is for your strength and tumbling is to learn flips
they are about the same
jazz is more fun and still have a little of the basic stuff and helps you with turns and jumps
u could do ballet for techniques but u dont really need to because cheer and ballet are really different
just in case u didnt know:
toe touch is when u do the middle splits in the air with hards in a horizontal line
hurdler is when one leg is bent and the other leg is straight in front or side while jumping
your arms are parellel in front
a high of course is kicking one leg up
a star jump is when your arms are up in a V shape
and your legs are in a middle split position but more like an upside down V so it makes a star kind of shape while jumping
a tuck jump is when u have both legs tucked in and bent while jumping
and the splits of course and one leg in front one in back and going to the ground
also u might want to know how to do some front flips and back flips and cartwheel
when u cheer u have to smile
and when landing the jumps always land in plea or with 2 bent legs

Flexibility is all about the stretching. You can stretch on your own, or join a gym and start taking yoga and pilates classes. I've been taking mat pilates classes for just over a month now (once a week) and have noticed I'm becoming more flexible. It's a slow process, but it works for me.
Also, if your local gym offers it, take a stretching class. It'll help you stretch muscles you didn't know you had.
As far as doing flips and stuff, you might want to start taking gymnastics. Let the professionals teach you how to do the flips the correct way, so you don't injure yourself.

there is no really easy way to become flexible, besides taking it easy. Try some yoga (sun salutation works well) and every day go into a split-far enough so it only hurts a little) and the same with a back-bend or brige(just have someone spot you)
Good luck!

here's coming from a real cheerleader...you just have to stretch alot! here's the order that my squad stretched and how i stretch on my own to stay flexible:
1. sit in a straddle (legs as far apart as possible) and reach to your right foot and try your hardest to touch your head to your knee and once you got that down, try to touch your head to the ground next to your knee...hold for 10-15 seconds
2. repeat but to the left...hold for 10-15 seconds
3. reach to the front in the middle of both your legs and try your hardest to touch your head to the ground in front of you...hold for 10-15 seconds
4. stand with your legs apart (a little farther than shoulderwidth) and try to touch your hands to the ground and if that's still too easy, reach your hands out farther in front of you and without taking your hands off the ground, lean back...hold for 10-15 seconds
5. try to go into the splits and once you get that down, try to touch your head to the ground next to your front leg...hold for 10-15 seconds
that's basically all you need to do to become flexible, but from cheerleader to cheerleader, to help you make the squad, you might wanna practice your jumps, kicks, and that mstuff! for the flips and things, you might need professional spotters and you can pretty much only find them at any gym...so take tumbling classes!
Bonne Chance! (Good Luck!)
